Metallizing Plastic & Physical Vapor Deposition
Vacuum Platers LLC has been providing metallizing services from our present location since 1958. The company started as a decorative metallizer, plating mostly zinc cast trophies and metal lighting components. In 1985, we opened a 40,000 sq. ft. facility, providing coating on plastic (chrome plating plastic), and specializing in a functional reflective metallizing on a variety of parts, including lawn tractors, automotive and household reflector applications. In 2003, an in-chamber top coating process featuring a plasma polymerized silicone was installed. The top coat provides a non-yellowing, environmentally friendly barrier and corrosion resistance for interior and exterior use.
Vacuum Platers also provides EMI/RFI Shielding on electrical components, including medical, computer, cell phone and entertainment devices. This Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) process has been UL listed, and is effective in the 60 to 100 dB frequency range.
Decorative Metallizing
Often referred to as "plastic plating", or "chrome plating plastic", decorative metallizing is actually not a plating process, it's accomplished by our innovative vacuum technique.
EMI/RFI Shielding
Our Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)/Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) coating process uses aluminum for a cost effective environmentally sound shielding solution.
