Our History
In 1959, Lectro-Vac of Sparta, WI moved its business to Mauston, setting up shop in the former Steiner Creamery. After changing the name to Vacuum Platers Inc., Alfred Gabower, an original stockholder, became President in 1961. He and his team built most of the equipment in the plant, including the first known flowcoating machines, working mainly on zinc die cast trophies, lighting fixtures, and furniture parts.
Vacuum metallizing on plastic became the targeted market in 1985, prompting the company to move to a new 40,000 square foot facility across the street. The new building featured the latest in plating and flowcoating equipment, including two vacuum chambers, two Deco flowcoaters, and multiple bake ovens and conveyors, processing thousands of parts daily.
In 2005, we became VP Vacuum Platers, LLC. With the 90+ years combined experience of our owners, we continue the tradition of excellent quality, and on-time deliveries.
